Laura Rossi and Cindy Kanusher on 50 Years of Westchester Philanthropy
Laura Rossi leads the Westchester office of the New York Community Trust, which marks fifty years in the county this year and has directed $129 million in grants to local nonprofits over the past 25 years alone. She talked with Jim alongside Cindy Kanusher of the PACE Women’s Justice Center, a twenty-year Trust grantee that provides free civil legal services to over 3,000 survivors of domestic violence, sexual assault and elder abuse each year, about what community philanthropy actually funds and why it matters as federal support for these services keeps shrinking.
